SMART, WOTA officials to join Coulter for questions from public
Oakland County residents interested in speaking up about the transit millage may get a chance tonight.
County Executive Dave Coulter will host a telephone town hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with SMART General Manager Dwight Ferrell, and Highland Township Supervisor Rick Hamill, who will speak about West Oakland Transportation Authority (WOTA).
The Nov. 8 ballot question to establish a countywide transit millage question asks voters whether or not they will support a 10-year, .95 mill proposal intended to maintain and expand countywide transportation services. While this millage will continue supporting SMART, North Oakland Transportation Authority (NOTA), WOTA and the Older Person’s Commission, the goal is to expand transit options throughout the county.
